Evidence suggests that (a) what we call Spiritual has existence, corollaries, and/or triggers contactable through our own psyches and (b) that pursuing such inquiries as "Why?" or "Who am I?" or "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" with rigorous iterative intensity will lead to existential realizations of a spiritual nature. -- Tom
Group Cultures differ significantly regarding what, if anything, they consider legitimately Spiritual. If a group has a specific spiritual sensibility or practice, it is usually wise to follow that. If it does not, it is wise to use spiritually evocative patterns that are not explicitly spiritual -- like Circle, Nature, Silence, Holding Dissonance and Difference, Holding Space, Listening, etc. to enable people to deepen in this way without violating the individual spiritual beliefs and sensibilities of participants. See also History Context Setting Awareness. -- Tom
Holding Space, being transpersonally focused, can often have a Spiritual dimension for the practitioner. Done well, it can increase the likelihood that people in the space will be more open to experience of Spirit, with or without other interventions. -- Tom
If the group is receptive, certain information and/or exercises can increase its members' experience of Spirit. Such readings, meditations, prayers, etc., are often related to specific religious traditions and thus should not be done with people from other traditions who will be turned off by them. -- Tom
